solid wood in hall

    my friend wants me to lay solid wood flooring in her hall .the base is concrete with a dpm covering .the width is about 1metre by 7 metres in length .do I have to glue this down to the sub floor or can I float it on underlay and glue the t/groove edges .cheers

    You must first do a damp test then liquid dpm then poss screed then oh telk you what it neds to be pro fitted or asking for major priblems
    And no you cant float a solid but you can engeneered flooring

    Much better for you to fit. Just make sure you leave the correct expansion gap.
    Use a dpm sheet then underlay to make sure.
    Kahrs do nice eng flooring and also quickstep .
    Solid wood needs a proffessional fit
