gotta job to quote on -

uplift existing chipboard - very noisy, creaking as usual, need to sound insulate then will be installing 21mm eng. direct to joist...

What options, suggestions do you have re: best product to minimise transient sound from 1st floor down to ground floor - currently any TV / radio downstairs travels to 1st floor waaaay to easily...

    thanks in advance

I'd batten the joists then ply rom baton to baton and get some of that spikey foam they use for music studios put that in, it's not product specific but you get my drift, or egg boxes loads of them a friend of mine used to band practice in his parents loft and they covered the whole attic in some kind of cardboard like egg boxes an it worked a treat.

Regupol 6010 Ba is like the egg box stuff. But it`s formed out of crumb rubber.
It`s very good, Ive used it a lot.

Carpet & Flooring will do ya a good deal, or should do.
The people who distribute it, are part of the same group.
Daz also knows a guy who has exactly the same spec products, but better rates.

    Where are u Daz ?

Accousticlay. Have a look at their systems. I used one for carpet but they have everything. Try www.trimaccoustics.co.uk

The one I used had to be passed by some sound xpert for airborne and impact sound. It was very expensive though.
