My first post Should you accept pressure banding as manufacturers are saying coz it wasn't fitted for 7 weeks its down to storage I didn't realise carpets had a use by date on them its been 9 months and its still not resolved Any advice ?
what happens if it was stored on the racks of manufacturer for 7 weeks? or do they manage to sell every piece of carpet they manufacturer in under 7 weeks? However , if it was stored under a lot of weight then this can cause issues? how many carpets was stored on top of it ?
there are some good manufactures out there who allow a little extra on every cut so the pole mark can be cut off ! But not many
im pressuming he means a pressure line running through the whole roll and not a 'pole' line where the carpet is first rolled?
It was just a standard cut rolled ok the manufactures said to leave it Before being inspected then after this they asked to wait a further 8 weeks But now won't inspect again.have offered 50% allowance but custourmer not happy Would cost me £380 to replace and I don't want to loose that much!
Taking the ****, sound like fault lines. Had the same thing in a few valley carpets when I worked for a shop and they replaced it.
I know hindsight is a great thing, but personally I wouldn't have fitted it without speaking to the rep and having assurances that it would be replaced if the banding didn't come out within a reasonable time frame, (6 weeks?)
Under the sales of goods act, the product is expected to look and feel like it did on the sample book before any type of wear or defect is apparent, I would suggest you keep on at where ever you got it from and demand an inspection or worst case, pay for your own inspection and hope that they agree with you and then re-charge all costs to where you brought it from.
