Yep I start in corner fit stay walls cut them in then stretch rest cut tap in and finish at door. Some use hook some back cut some cut then stretch so everyone to there own method. As long as its fitted right.

Why? do your fitters no how to fit carpet? if they do why change the way they fit?, if your just a desk jockey stick to the paperwork and let the fitters fit and you knock up invoices, if they arnt good fitters get rid and get some good ones instead.

    Simples

I Stretch fit domestic carpets always. Double stick/single stick for commercial jobs or naturals. I think Brintons say to double stick over ufh but I always stretch fit.

Well you would lose a lot of work if you priced to double stick every job, you don't need to double stick, it looks exactly the same stretch fitted. It's just not done by any1 I know

Thanks for the advice, just was curious to see what be the option the profesionsl chose if time and money wasnt an issue, as I want to give to my customers an installation warranty and I dont want any issues of carpet shrinking after their got it cleaned or bubbles in the carpet after a year

Its to do with how much traffic the area being fitted is going to take ! In a domestic environment its only the house holders that will use the floor ie low traffic area

In commercial or residential areas the foot traffic is a lot higher. Hundreds of people could walk over it every day so it needs to be able to take it That's why floor covering have a traffic rating ie light domestic, heavy domestic or commercial use ect..
So glueing the carpet in a residential area makes it more hard wearing & stable because there's less movement like there is in a general stretch fit ! OK ?

By the way, sticking it down won't stop it from shrinking!

    Hi Mahmood
How can you run a flooring company if you don't know basic installation methods ?
I suggest you get on one of Matts courses yourself and then add a few fitters ,

It all depends on how much traffic and the actual length and backing on the carpet if its going to be double stuck, if its a normal house then 90% would be stretched, odd body and border done with durafit , most commercial jobs especially heavy used corridors are always double stuck,
