Gear shifter off a motorbike?....or a gear lever from an old tractor? Got knows what you'd use it for in flooring though
looks like metal made verson of the plastic part that holds the blade on a romas high tec trimmer ( the bit that all ways brakes ! ) nice one !
Spot on Spacey and Gareth Due to doing a lot of Natural flooring 10 years ago I needed something that was not going to keep breaking like the plastic ones always did. Had a local engineering firm lathe it up and its been worth its weight in gold ever since. Demonstrated it to Stikatak at one of their open days a few years ago. They showed initial interest but no follow up. Well done lads.
great.. but no manufacturer is going to make something that lasts, they want it to break/wear out, otherwise they'll go bust for lack of sales..
Yes but flooring tools are already the most expensive tools going. That's why I had this piece made as mine kept breaking and I kept sending it back for replacement. Don't call that very cost effective when it has to keep being replaced. If tools fail within 12 month you have the same sales of goods act protection as with everything else. If tools keep failing and being returned then surely: A. Us installers won't buy them anymore & B. The companies loose income due returned sales To machine something like that in China instead of UK would not cost much in comparison to the rest of the tool. Since I have replaced my tool bit has never let me down which is what its all about at the end of the day.
