When being given a price per sq/m for fitting, would this normally be based on the sq/m of the room, or would it be based on the sq/m of the size of carpet that is being delivered. For example, a room could be 3m x 6m, and the carpet would be supplied 4m x 6m (or 6.1m with 10cm to cut-in). In this case, would a fitter (or shop) normally charge for 18sq/m (3x6) or 24sq/m (4x6) ? Thanks in advance for any advice!
I understand the carpet would have to be paid for (4x6 in this example) but I wanted to clarify how the fitting cost is calculated. Just seems strange that the fitting charge is based the size of the carpet rather than the area of the room. If the carpet is only available in a 5 meter width, than am I right in thinking the fitting cost would increase?
In the contract world you only get paid for what's on the floor, would love to get paid for the waste, I have had surveyors deduct door frames and columns, on the standard form of measurement for a jct 80 contract , if a column is bigger than 0.30 x .30 it's deducted but you can charge extra for cutting round it, You domestic fitters don't know how easy you have it,
It's like marmite, you either love it or hate it, It's so strange that you don't get that many that cross over,
I do some when needed. I help my mate out on some but the main reason I do that is he deals with the bull and I get to work with some people rather then on my todd!
thought about going into oak coffee tables, the only problem with that is you will never have the right stock for SUM..
