I've got to lay a engineered 18mm oak floor, I've levelled the floor with na latex but still not completely flat but almost , and have l19 glue to stick the boards down with The floor is 6m x 3.6 and joins in to entrance hall and back room. Any advice, hints ,tips tricks to help me get this down quickly and correctly ?? Cheers
NA isn't strong enough mate rip up and replace with latexplan or similar, don't forget to liquid DPM.
compression strength not enough with na ,also did you do a moisture check on subfloor,i would always liquid dpm first . dont lay more than a row or 2s worth of adhesive at a time ,if boards are t&g then clamp together as you go leaving recommended expansion.leave overnight before putting skirting back on or beading.sorry to say but i think your going to have to uplift the screed and re lay .generaly read the instructions on the adhesive and follow the wood flooring instructions as well.
You should get away with NA as its a engineered. But is not correct. You also need to apply a surface dpm if glueing down a wooden floor unless the RH moisture reading is below 65% ?
If it is an engineered floor it is likely suitable for floating. You only need to stick down a solid wood floor to concrete. This would save you ripping up your levelling compound.
