We have a place in Essex we are about to build. However we are waiting for college H+S approval as its on the first floor and with the new regs we might struggle to meet fire escape routes and we also have to cater for anyone disabled. That would mean a 2nd staircase and rest areas on the way up stair case. Problem is as we would be making changes to teh building (building training bays) we would have to meet new regs. Also we are not sure if the place will be built for just wood training yet. We need a lot of warehouse space to cater for all floorcoverings. You would not belive just how much material we use at FloorSkills every week. We are about to have a additional warehouse built at the FloorSkills training centre as we just dont have enough space for how many people are booking our courses. We can soon see a pallet of LVT, plywood etc off in 1 week. Carpets take the most room, again we see a full roll of carpet off and a few bags of underlay each week so im sure you get the idea of the size of storage it takes.
I appreciate how much work time & effort goes into floorskills but Newcastle & surrounding areas are desperate for a training facility & frankly Im sick of talking to time served experienced fitters who are frankly clueless & also I want to better my self with out having to travel the length of the country & it effecting my work commitments so much !
