Is it an oil based paint or a polyurethane ?

Best to shot blast, scrabble the paint off first.

Yes paint Defo needs to be removed but Latex is a Big No !
I'd recommend Stop Gap 800 wear coat screed

As the guys have already said, you've got to get rid of the paint first. I did my own garage floor about 5-6 years ago with Ardex NA then Polysafe standard on top and it takes the weight of my Impreza without any hassle. In fairness though, if you're doing this as a job for someone you'd be better doing as Spacey advised as use Stop Gap 800 as it recommended for the purpose.

I think the biggest problem with screeding a garage floor is to check it's got a D.P.M. A lot of garages haven't !!

Cars like impreza's are very light when it comes to loading. They have a wide tyre so spread the weight. You can drive one over your hand (yes it will hurt but wont crush your bones and please note that i dont recommend you try this)

The issue will be when you try and jack the car up with a trolley jack. Have you tried this? hows the NA got on?
