Any1 got any suggestions for the best method to join Flotex? The last one we did we over lapped and cut thru both edges with a super hook against a straight edge. Worked well but not completely invisible.

Did you do it before you stuck it?
I would do it the same way with either a straight or hook, before its stuck, kick it tight giving a little bulge, not that much just enogh to give it a little pressure, pull back and stick, lay one side and then feed the other one in keeping it tight together, important to keep the knive upright so you don't under cut or over cut the foam, which will make the joint more visible , normally it's invisible

Yep, that's exactly how we did it. It's a very light blue and I'm pretty happy with the joins we did. You could only see them if you get down and look for them. The first room we did we stuck the whole lot first and then cut in like we would with a gel back loop or super cord but found Flotex will pucker up if we did that

I allways thought flotex was butt joined without any cutting. Or at least it used to be !

I haven't done any flotex for a while but I've always butted up the machine edge too & it goes together perfect !

I rarely lay it these days but back in the day we always butt jointed it, that's what its designed to do.
I used to struggle with cutting header joints in doorways though - i'd cut back 2/3 of the way across, turn around to finish the joint and would often find the straight edge had crept and the joints didn't match up.
