Anyone laying artifical grass? Would like to know of your experiances with this type of product. Rugrat www.carpetfittersshoponline.co.uk
Did a spell of traveling up and down doing a chain of golf shops. they always had artificial grass for a putting green. Doddle to fit. I've fitted some in my garden (loose laid) under the kids trampoline. Been down 6 years.
can you lay it straight onto grass? My rep from carpet and flooring was showing it me, I might put it in my back garden. Seen some vids where you have to dig the real grass up and put a hardcore base down. I just want to lay it on top.
I had done a load of work in the garden so had no grass left where the trampoline goes. I put the black mesh under it that stops weeds and stuff growing.
Done miles of it at centre parcs hate it, although the one we done was indoor more like flotex the rolls weighed a ton to real dead weght stuff then all the white lines which were pre-cut to the correct size all stuck down on double sided tape which was 200mm wide.
I installed artificial grass 5 years a go and it makes me satisfied so much. I like playing football on it because the surface temperature is not high like natural grass.
Many clients hire us to install artificial grass because they want to have a great place for their children to play. Others create artificial grass putting greens to practice their golf, etc. All of them like their choices.
artifial grass is best for your garden. Its easy to install and needs low maintenance. And as the water supply is decreasing and water costs are souring.Artificial grass is best.
I laid some onto a concrete floor in someone's back garden, they love it. Glue is expensive to put it down . I'm sure you could go over the grass. Make sure its pretty flat, Put the membrane sheet down, lay the artificial n top, then lay sand on top of that. A friend just did his, he took the grass up, got it nice and flat and the same process as above.
I sold some to a designer once, had 2m wide laid along his hallway, looks decent, then done his kids bedroom complete with halfway lines etc!!
If your fitting it next time just use f3 for sticking it down much cheaper than the recommended ( so call) adhesive.
Heres my back garden before and after. 4m wide laid in 3 strips joins seamed with fibreglass type wide tape and waterproof adhesive. laid loose and pinned at edges, no need for sand.
I recently switched to artificial grass and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner. It looks great all the time, and I barely have to do anything to keep it that way. No watering, no mowing, and no dealing with patchy spots or mud after rain. I bought mine from Verdigrass. They have a nice range of options depending on what you need—whether it’s for your yard, a sports area, or something pet-friendly. The installation was smooth, and the grass feels surprisingly realistic.
