Does anyone know what master weave, hever castle is. That should be aw, but what is the carpet. It's 100% poly and £25!!!!!!! In the sale. Customer wants me to get something similar but I can't find it on- line to see what it is.

Dedo changed the name, that's their speciality so nobody can see what their prices are. Like gala for about 15 quid. I had to go hunting in john Lewis at the weekend as my customer said I've picked a carpet but you won't be able to get it as its a john Lewis own. I said im sure i will, they just change most of the names. A few mins looking on Sunday and I got it, and now got 75 sq/m in 2 lounges.

I would give one of the headlam group a ring and give them the code and ask them to run it on AW ranges, the code number will be the same.
Had a customer last week who had already bought, but wanted some more, CR's Nordic Berber, they had it "reduced" from £35 sq mtr to £15.99
    It was Island weave!!!!
They had their own u/lay gripper so I quoted £15 sq fitted, plus free re-stretch of what cr had fitted. They rang me the next day saying CR was now £11.99 could I reduce the bill by £100 cheaper than cr? (62sq) er, no!! Massive great big posh house in Clifton, Bristol, proffessional people and don't seem to want us plebs to earn a decent living.

I've found the crossley Verona, that's balta. The other one I think must be a saxony for 25. @steve. It's a joke isn't it.

Island weave is c£$T, but customer thinks its a £35sq mtr cpt, also asked me to contact "Nordic" to see if I could get it cheaper, however hard I tried to explain, they couldn't seem to grasp CR's conning, sorry marketing, techniques.

As much as I hate cr, you have to hand it to them with their marketing.

I've got the other carpet aswell. Mcd rep found it, they have all the cross over names. If I go in at the same price as cr on that one, well I'm going to be rich. Hahahaha

Thats why I hate them, nothing against the employees or fitters, but as a company they seem to be just out to pull the wool over peoples eyes, can't stand dishonesty.

I admire your answer Steve and to all my customers I think I dont do the carpet right way but given the opportunity to do as Adam said, well I would be very tempted. It happens every where just in different ways. Supermarkets seem to offer deals and you would assume being so big, they would have buying power but I get things cheaper at the local store and What buying power do they have? None but they don't have massive stores with hundreds of staff. This should now be in non flooring chat now!

It does happen everywhere, it doesn't make it right, I subbed to Allied for years ,at the time they used to give a printout of all the customers names and addresses that you fitted for. When I left and started supplying I could have contacted probably around 7000 customers I had fitted for in the years I subbed to them, I didn't contact one. As much as I didnt like the way they worked I had earned good money for years from them and it would have been wrong to do so. Yes I could have made a LOT more money over the years, but I can sleep at night.

I don't work for any shops but I so sub floor builders & kitchen & bathroom company's ! On a regular basis I nab there customers for further work but mostly they ask me so I guess its not that bad really. But when I work for these companies I tend to point out that Im free lance & don't work directly for them !
