Got a customer that wants the flooring changed in their wet room.

Its a concrete floor with the fall away to the drain. They want the fall leveled off and the drain covered.

What I don't want to do is just use rapid and screed without somehow sealing the drain. I'm worried that moisture from the drain (unless its sealed) will rise and cause the screed and flooring to fail.

Any ideas on a cap or effective way to seal the drain and stop any moisture raising through?

Could you not dig it out and blank off the waste. Hopefully it shouldn't be that deep and once the trap been disconnected it could be blanked off.

Have done this before we used expanding foam to as far down the drain as we could then filled drain with sharp sand patch the I last bit with a45 rapid then L3gold over it all it may not be the best way to do it but it was only supposed to be temp untill it all got ripped out and extension built but 3 years later my mate still hasnt done extension but the floor is still ok

I was away to say expanding foam and rapid repair then screed would surely be enough?
