got an old lady come in shop and say we fitted carpet and underlay in her flat 3 months ago i remembered her and asked what i could do for her she said "i dont like to complain but i keep finding these in my carpet" she then pulled out some toilet roll full of dead fleas and explained she thought the underlay we put down was infested at the time and we have now infested her flat i told her what they were and suggested her two cats may be infested and that is probably where the problem comes from she then says "speaking of my cats they wont walk on my carpets because the underlay is to hard and it hurts their feet" "also im not happy about the fitters - before they came i made my bed and they took the quilt and pillows off and never put them back on" FFS MISSUS
On a serious point, thats why I won't take customers old carpets away in my van, flea eggs can lie dormant for 10 years, then there's silverfish, moths eggs and whatever else you dont want getting on a new carpet. I will cut the carpet up and load their car for them, or I use a man with a van waste disposal service, £60 up to a smallish houseful of carpets.
Cats and carpets don't mix. I detest the little b4stards. I always suggest 2 bricks, a sack and a midnight trip to the local pond. Or a saucer of milk mixed with polyfilla. Problem solved I think.
