Anybody tried it? sometimes get the urge to be creative so am considering making one of those sanding discs that has the carb stones on it for my machine, I have a spare drive board so was thinking of attempting to make one, found on ebay some carb stone wheels with an m14 fitting so was thinking of drilling a few holes through the spare drive board knocking a few appropriate length m14 bolts through with a little bit of gripfill for good measure and hey presto hopefully a fully working carb stone buffing pad.
Make sure you space them equally or it'll be out of balance, get a wobble and potential damage your machine
You can buy them aready made with 3 circle carb stones on have used them loads over the years and imo not as good as the grit paper as the stone only buff / sand down a circle of 4 inch wide meaning a lot more work and time needed
