Hiya im just qouting for a job, good chance will get as done lots of previous work for the guy, im more geard up
for domestic work and do the odd contract job ( last one undercooked the labour by 2 days ) so want to see how long
you guys would allow for this :-

Its a nursing home and 5 corridors each with about 10 doors ( 50 doors approx ) and 83 m2

Old gel back carpet to be uplifted ( pulls up fairly easy but will need scraping in areas )

The subfloor in allready sereeded but obviously if LVT is selected it will need another skim of screed,

The product will either be lvt wood effect fitted on a diagonal throughout the corridors or carpet tiles so im qouting for both ? there will be no borders or features !

    Thanks

83m2 of corridors with 50 doorways? first off cheat and undercut all the doorways to save abit of time, 1 day to uplift and to screed, then id of said 2/3 days to fit if its clear and nobody gets in the way (highly unlikely in old folks home) maybe allow a week in total to be safe and say hello to the old boy who was a carpet/floor layer when he was younger, every single care home I ever did there was always an ex fitter or so they reckon in there.

If I was pricing it, it would be £3.00 uplift, extra £1.5 if you have to dispose, good latex 3mm would be £5.00 to £6.00 in those areas.
Fitting would be between £10 labour only for angle , maybe £12.00 , carpet tiles say £6.00
Total would be around £20m2 so around £1500 less latex cost
If your good you could do in two days if all goes well and you work your n*ts off , 3 days would be still be ok and 4 days I expect average

what latex would you be using?
high traffic area etc wheelchairs, maybe use a high strength one, tremcos sx300 NA, rep was telling me the other day its over 25nm!
id be using the cheapest gear i could get my hands on for that kinda moneys, im normally 8-10m2 until its over 100m jobs, then start taking the m2 price down a little etc

I suppose its down to how much you can buy it for?( For a high Newton I would pay between £2 to £3 m2 )
And what the competition is charging, The most I have ever got on a contract job for a 3mm is £7.00 but the average is £4.00, but my jobs are normally over a hundred meters, Of course I would like to get as much as I can for Latex but I am up against people who take a view that they can put it down thinner! On a large job I just priced I was £4.50 m2 but would have done £4.00, the client had £3.00 to £3.30 from two other contractors, so thats the market rate , but I suspect they are planing to only give it a wash ! I could have got the job if i was willing to get near the rates but in the end I walked away. What's the point if you don't make any money.
