Got a customer that currently has wood block down and is planning on installing wet ufh on top (clipped into grey polypipe base sheets). They're on about screwing base sheets down through wood blocks and want me to float engineered over top.

I'm concerned that the heat will cause wood blocks to sweat and swell causing whole floor to fail.

    Any opinions?

It won't work mate if its wood block chances are they're gonna have to replace concrete to install ufh the addy used is probably bitumen based doesn't rect well to constant heat never mind the wood swelling like mad anyway

If it does come up your shagged! Not a very stable subfloor. I don't even float engineered over woodblock let alone with ufh in between.

yea would deffo concur with the other knowledgeable wood chaps comment & stear clear unless you rip up existing w/block & get down to stable subfloor then start from there...
