What actual difference between a 1 and 2 tog u/lay? got a houseful to fit, quote accepted, but had a phone call today saying underfloor heating is to be installed. Just a cheapy carpet, Condors Palm Beach, anyone know the Tog of that? and what the combined tog should be for U/F heating? Thanks
am doing one at the mo. been told tog has to be below 2.5 for underlay & carpet combined. am using Roma which is 0.8 tog and an 80/20 which is 1.6 water u/f pipes under concrete
Thanks, Guess the carpets about 1.5? I think Roma is 0.8, think they do a slightly thicker one that is 1 tog? would prob go for that as she wants the carpet to feel really soft!!! I had intended to use cosy 10 need to check tom if U/F is upstairs, or just under the concrete floor downstairs.
Ball and young do radiance which has a slightly higher tog rating than Roma but I've not used it so not sure how much thicker it is. Roma can be a **** tho, I always lay it all out the first day then cut it in the second as the ripples don't drop out straight away.
if you wanting cheap then roma it is by a fair bit its 38 quid a bag compared to others that are well over 50+ easy
A mate I used to do fitting for always used a 85lb normal rubber ulay if the customer wanted to keep cost down. He was told it was 1tog. Call suppliers in the morning and check.
Roma £38, Venice£41 but thicker, will get 20% off each I would imagine, going by my normal dissy on other u/lay
Will do, having looked at my prices on other u/lay may be not quite that much, get 20% on cosy 10, 15 on pwr step, 10 on super contract.
