Driving this.... We bought an American Motorhome earlier this year, and Emma and me have both been doing an hgv class 2 this week. It`s a serious learning curve, jumping out of a car, or 3.5 ton van, into an 18 ton lorry. Eight forward gears, and 2 reverse. Both passed today !
Well done, that's a brave move for the Mrs too. Although saying that my Mrs prefered the sprinter than the car sometimes...lol I used to drive the Iveco 18tonne and that WAS like driving a car.. Nice those Scania's, was that the 24' or 26'?
It was 33' mate, nearly 700kms on it, and the box was a right dog ! Our instructor said its likely that all tests will be taken in autos from next year. Think we might go back and do our class 1 next year, as we can still only tow 750kg ?!? crazy eh
Me and a mate converted his Citroen relay into a motorhome a couple of months ago. Then set off to the French Alps and down to the South coast. Good times!!! Toll roads are expensive though.. Bet you can't wait to set off Neil
Yes mate, looking forward to it. We went to Devon and cornwall this year, and ironed out a few problems with it, then were off up to Norfolk in the half term, so just a few weeks away. Looking forward to doing some proper touring, and hope to get abroad next year.
Be prepared for a lot of pointing and open-mouthed staring if you're bringing it to Norfolk mate. And beware the Pikeys, they'll have the wheels off while you're still moving.
Get that everywhere mate, its really funny. I`m used to dealing with Pikeys too, used to do there carpets in there vans. Swop it for a trotting pony ?
