Skimmed a job about 35 meters all different levels some solid and a little part wood is used level flex and it's brought the levels up good but the finish on top is not as good as I would like so can I screed over the top with k11 which is 1 newton meter higher or can I put na on top that's lower but is latexes based cheers
Why not just use level flex? easiest thing to do with latexing is if you know what was put down originally use it again, no problems then.
Level flex is funny stuff & has a tendency to leave depressions in the finish but not always I find it better used as a deep coat as it can be laid up to 65mm ! Not really any good as a skim what ever that means ? How bad is it ? Feather finish is a cheaper option go over the bad bits first with it mixed quite thick then a coat or 2 over the whole floor then polish it with a buffer to get better adhesion that's if you've got a buffer ?
Skim coat 3mm mate did not want to use feather over it as parts in a conservatory and yes level flex is good gear for building up but does have a mind of its own some days great iv priced to screed again so not really down to cost just was unsure if latex can go on top of water based
I had 80m2 to level last week, all rooms were different levels as a mixture of old concrete, new concrete, plywood. I used Stauf screed for the whole lot. Amazing stuff. It needs 6 litres of water so you can imagine how nice it flows. When I needed to screed over the ply I just chucked in a bag of fibres in the mix with each bag rather than having to change to a different product. Its getting a bit of a screed cliché but it really did look like a sheet of glass when it had cured the next day. Ive used most screeds (Mapei, FBall, Ardex, Levelflex, Ulta) and this screed is by far the best I've ever used. German quality!
