Screwing ply?

    Can be be but normally 18 or 22 for chip board ! The easiest thing to do is check !

    What I've found when people have used ring shank is they sometimes work their way up and the heads become visible.

    That sounds like they have missed the subfloor, Ive not seen that problem either. I find 20mm screws dont bite into 6mm ply enough, had to use 25mm and yes I was waiting for the burst pipe all day!!

    20 mm every time !! By the time they have countersunk a little , they are just about right .

    old floorboards are ok as long as they've not been sanded a couple of times before someone decides to cover it up...lol

    Structural subfloor should be 22mm + really but we all know what builders are like

    Did some last year borrowed my builder mates driver with collated dry wall screws had to go through 2 x 9mm sheets to save time. worked a treet, no snapping.

    We have a new piece of kit on the way screw fed on a plastic strip used from a standing position no loading screw one at a time, tried it in the unit it brill.

    Seen it in action at harrogate.
    Great idea in practice
    But a good bit slower in reality,

    correct, but now with a longer shaft and proper wood screws too

    trying to find proper wood screws for those things is a right proper pita.
    I know, had my auto feed for last 7+yrs

    i only use two sizes
    20mm & 25mm
