Planning on getting a Guillotine at some point but which one & what size is the best ? What kind do you have ? Not cheap are they really worth the coin ? How much use do you get from your Guilly ?
Mines a L13 magnum shear. I use it for cutting features to size and cutting tiles if I'm doing a design with 1/2 tiles, etc. Also use it for engineered woods and laminates.
I know where to get one mate I just want to know which kind people have & general thoughts about them !
I've got the old magnum shear, it's heavy but it's great for cutting the ends of laminate and lvt but the one thing that let's it down is the guide rail on the both sides unscrew and come off square.
I've got a little 12incher! Use it for planks on 45, border stuff and if I'm tight on material I'll use it for putting a factory edge back on it. Oh and for herringbone if from a range like camaro etc.
mines a 20" magnum rct20 Good bit of kit and use it when doing 45* designs and brilliant for cutting strips down to size for making the job quicker As creative says, its a must for doing bespoke designs, cutting down & factory edges etc
If your going to buy one I'd get a massive one that can cut 18" tiles on a 45 perfect. That would be handy.
That's what I was thinking ! If you have a wee fella like cre8tive then your chopper's abilities are limited !
I have the 24'' Grundlach only problem is lifting the thing. Bit overkill for me as 75% of my work is the fluffy stuff use it also on carpet tile borders
