crazy thing is this may have been insisted upon by customer - i have had this and refused to do job but im sure someone else will have done it after me

 

too right, I've got a customer (who's also a mate) who wants me to fit 2 layers of underlay under a new carpet. He thinks I'm pulling his leg when I tell him "no".

 

There is a business near me who according to a repr that goes there, they have put 2 layers of underlay under the carpets in their show room which they use to say to the customers this is how thick and soft our underlay is!

 

It may be thick and soft but your carpet will be buggered in no time

I new a joiner who did this in his own house. It was awful to walk on. Couldn't tell him though as he thought he knew everything. He's now a window cleaner!!!
