Can anybody please recommend the best vinyl hot welder?

I've looked around online and seen a few Leister starter kits for around £400-£450 which look pretty good and include a few hand tools (router, p-groover, moon knife etc)

Ideally I would prefer the 230/240v rather than needing a transformer, but I remember when I was at FloorSkills doing the cap and cove course Matt saying the older models are more user friendly and the newer digital ones can be a pain!

I cant see any for sale on TradeDiscountShop but that's not to say they aren't there!

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Tim

Defo stick with Leister & I'd go for the 110 so you can use it on sites ! If you want a new one I'm sure Mario could sort one out for you but theres always a few on EBay !

Leister are far and away the best. Don`t bother with anything else.

Steinel are great and the hawk welding kit is really good value. Fully adjustable temp and air flow. The wolf welder is a Steinel one.

Can anyone help me? I've had the triac pt (think it's this one it's digital) for about 4 years brand new. I was on site the other month and a daft sparky managed to yank it out of my hand and broke the motor. I went to the only place in Hull that's deals with them and he quoted £180 plus vat and fiting it obviously I think he's taking the p**s abit so just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?

Yeah he rang me back after about 2 weeks with the quote so obviously I just picked it up just to try and find it cheaper to fix.

I haven't no that's why is thought it was a bit steep and talking to the guy a few days previous he did say they hadn't had a lot in. Like I said though there is no one else around who deals with flooring tools and kit so I'm stuck really. Do you know if leister repair stuff themselves?

repairs are not cheap. The parts cost a lot of money.

PM mjfl as im sure he could fix it for you at a reasonable price.
