Who works over Christmas? I have a few times and been asked to this year too. 27th an 28th. Think I'll say no though. Will be having a lot of late finishes in December so want to enjoy Christmas with my family. Hoping to finish the 23rd an stay off till 6th jan.
I often work between Xmas & new year always have tbo Ive done a lot of Xmas eve working in the past to in fact the only no work days are Xmas day boxing day & new years day anything else goes !
I don't work in between either , done it a couple of years ago 28th29th in a swimming pool changing room didn't want to be there at all when I turned up .think it reflected in my work
try to allow the body a decent 2 week recoup BUT best laid plans & all that,,,, i've 'inserted' a few jobs between chrimbo & NYr in past years but hope to keep it clear this one, fingers X'd no curved balls come in! last year had every intention of wrapping up Fri 21st then back in on Mon 7th... all went tats up & ended up working Dec 27th & 28th reasonably local then full house & skirting 100+M2 etc down in Plymouth 2nd Jan...! not being one to complain though, good coin but hard graft...
I'll be taking as much time off as I can from Nov 21 to stay up late for the Ashes. Definitely won't be working between Christmas and new year, life's far too short for that. Not sure what my wife is gonna think when I change my living arrangments to sleeping all day and watching telly all night for the cricket, but what the hell, you're a long time dead.
I seem to be going against the trend here but im normally working till x-mas eve and often do a few days between as well. The break is nice but it gets a bit boring doing nothing so if a job calls, which it has the last 5 years I always take it but I do take the half term off in feb. X-mas is a time to get the money in for the quiet start to the year.
Never work between Christmas and new year, only do domestic, and I've never had anyone want me in their house then anyway.
We do contract aswell so it's a time for offices, got a uni gym coming up over x-mas, done a chef school that was closed over x- mas break It's not great knowing you probably won't be fully off but as I said i take feb off and hit the slopes so the money is needed.
Totally mate. I like a good x-mas which costs a fortune with children and if I can get some work its good. It's also easier to do something than take the whole time off cos I hate going back then!
