    Hi

Based on you giys experience in laying this, what do you feel is the best colour that works best as a border with VG Classic Oak?

We have finally decided on classic oak in our hallway with a border laid with the main planks laid at a 45 degree angle.

Just wanted to pick the experts brains on what you feel works best?

    Many Thanks

I'd go with a 5mm feature strip. Dark colour, almost black

Just keep in mind if you have narrow sections in your hallway fitting a border with Van Gogh can have the effect of pulling the walls in, even when fitting on the angle. Van Gogh is a p0retty wide plank so you might want to cut down the size of the plank for the outer to take the border nearer to your skirtings. As LVTman said, something dark to contrast the classic oak colour.

What's the colour of the furniture that sits in the area? If its mahogany, go dark to match.

    Hi

Pics of the hallway are below.

By the front door its approx 160cm wide leading to 233 cm wide

By the bullnose its 112 cm wide and the hallway is approx 145cm wide at its widest point

I have put the sizes on the images. So with the classic oak would I be better for the border asking the installer to use smaller size classic oak plank then using a 5mm RP41 border then have the classic oak at a 45 degree angle

I'd prob do the border 4- 5 inches out from the skirts.

i tend to find showing the client previous works on the ipad etc helps them a great deal visualising their potential floor.
Every good installer/retailer should have plenty of pictures/examples to help the end user make an informed choice
