Get him to sell you an inverter, I suffered for years and this used to really help, if you think about it, it's logical, the sciatica is caused by the sciatic nerve being trapped either by the hip or the disks, some it's a prolapse disk pushing on it, so when you stand or walk for a long it pushes on the nerve, by hanging upside down gravity pulls them apart and it relieves it, or it did in my case
Do it for 20 min but build up to it, it's a little strange on you senses,
You just set it correctly with the weight and height, put your arms on waist and you go level, but your arms on your chest and you go back a little, put them above your head and you hang upside down like a bat, ( I used to move around by twisting and it really relived it) then just put your arms by your sides and you swing back, doesn't hurt doing it,
But as they say on the adverts" speak to your doctor first " don't want to get sued for breaking your back ;-)

Does this really work. I've been thinking off getting one as I suffer terribly with my lower back and sciatica. Take doctor prescribed cocodamol just so I can sleep at night. Had physio at hospital, Had mri scan and they couldn't find anything apart from age onset wear an tear. How much did you pay for your table as I've seen them on ebay for around £100.

Once again, speak to your doctor first, but...
I used to get chronic pains in my lower back from time to time, and also almost constant but not severe pain where my shoulders meet the spine. I was convinced that the latter was because of the way carpet fitters carry heavy rolls on one side with the body twisted. I took up indoor rock climbing for some excercise eight years ago and to my amazement the pains vanished within three weeks. They only return if I miss climbing for a month or more. The stretching hanging and pulling must act as a natural physiotherapy. I dont know what would happen if I stopped completely.

It worked for me, I used to lift something and my back used to go into a spasmam, used go like an s bend
Hanging used to relive it, I know this sounds like a joke, but get someone to really pull your leg! Not say your good looking but really tug at your leg,and do a little twisting while they do it, if you feel it's helping the pain then get one, yes between £100 to £250 on eBay

I do a spot of climbing, indoor and out and UVcure is spot on...It really helps with back pain..and gets rid of the moobs :D

I slipped a disc in my early twenties playing golf and it's never really left me...I've contemplated the upside down hanging jobby but now you've really talked me into it UV :)

Think I'm gonna give one a try. If it doesn't work I can resell it. Tried everything else. Chiropractor was useless. Used to twist and crack my back then give me exercises to do, which I did regularly. Never worked. After £35 each 20 min session I felt I'd been robbed by Dick Turpin. As for my good looks it must be why I have 2 ex wives:-D.

Absolutly Uv... lay on the floor and get someone to pull your leg and it also helps if you try and kinda elongate your leg while they're doing it. It does help

I feel your pain ( sorry! ) I've had it three times the first time being the worst and lasting nine months. I tried all things to relieve the problem. I had gravity/inversion boots ( similar to an inverter but more extreme ) from my younger days of being mega fit and that helped as your full weight is opening up the hip joints. The best thing was trunk curls every day to strengthen up the abdomen which helps take the load of the hips. Sadly it just takes time for the nerves to find a new path.

you can get them ankle braces with hooks on them that do the same thing you strap them on an hang from a chin up bar, then let gravity do the job.

Yea but you need to be fit enough to get your legs up to hook up, so when your having trouble walking and having to crawling across the floor, getting up backwards on a chin up is not top of your list to try,:p

I think I'm gonna try 'the inverter' suffered with it for years and years....at worst both legs go numb for hours and I get stuck in random places and have to wait until my back says it's ok to get up!
