I've always been taught to run carpet pile running as you walk in. So.... Do you sacrifice this if you can save on waste? (I.e: turning 90 degrease). Just wondered because people I know have mixed views on this. If this has been mention before, I do apologise.
what ever way fits best in a room if not affected by pattern, always over the top step on a landing though.
Iv always been taught to run pile in direction same way ur closing a door. But as everyone else min waste as possible, wouldnt reay notice unless a pattern
Depends on the carpet the budget & what the customer's happy with. Some carpets can look a totally different shade of colour when two run in different directions !
there are a few general rules which should leed to elimination of which way you should run pile. In other words there is no so called correct way unless a a room, only 1 rule thats for HSL's 1- HSL = pile should always run the same direction as the stairs / run with stair direction (turning with the steps) 2- Lounge / dinner / bedroom etc = should always run same direction as HSL, (if same carpet run through house) 3- Lounge dinner etc 1st choice (if not same carpet as stairs) pile should run away from windows 4- Lounge dinner etc 2nd choice (if not same carpet as stairs) carpet should run so any joins are out of wear areas. 5- Lounge dinner etc 3rd choice (if not same carpet as stairs) carpet to run most economical (preference pile away from light or towards door)
