    Hey guys

What alternative (cheaper) weight roller would you recommend for like once you have put down karndean etc.. I have been told a grass lawn watered weight but I'm thinking if the water comes out somehow I'm ****ed...

Or is it not worth it just stick to the original flooring rollers?

Also I know they are expensive because of the weight of metal but  give us a break

    Any ideas would be nice

I mainly use a hand roller the ones with 3 wheels. Find they do the job but I do always us PS adhesive and most LVT's I do are under 30m2. Plus it keeps the boy busy!

Yeah I have one of those but when you doing 60m2 at a time in one room it's long and the boys get restless (bored)

    I use a 50kg roller. I add 4x5kg weights from a bar set to the handle if I need a 70kg

i dropped on a glider for £60, its fairly weighty, i find it does a good job on domestic vinyl if you wrap a offcut of carpet round the weight, i dont fit l v t so dont know if it would do or not.

I have the 70kg roller, as well as hand rollers etc
imo you cannot do it 100% without it on anything over the size of a bathroom
i may get flamed for saying this
But if you aint using the proper tools, you aint doing it properly!
    Simple as that

A fitter I know got his mate, who worked in a metal fabrication place, to make him a carpet glider so I loaned him mine so he could copy it.
He made a perfect copy except from one slight modification..... a hinge at the bottom of the handle ?
It didn't work at all it just floded in half when he tried to push it lol

I've always used my 28kg roller. Because of the narrower width and smaller diameter the point load is nearly as high as a 70kg. More than adequate for lvt in my opinion........ and there's no temptation to leave it in the van.
