Problem concrete subfloor, electrical cable buried causing problems

    Alright lads, my mate is re-doing his kitchen (1950's ex council) and he said there was a lump in it. Lifted back old vinyl and dug away loose unbonded concrete to find electrical main cable running all the way to the main box. Looks to me like they have re-wired the house and boxed in with metal sheath which has deteriorated and blown. He wants to put ceramics on the floor himself but is obviously worried about the same thing happening. I have my opinions on it and just looking for some outside thoughts as will show the thread, cheers lads<br><div>

    Get an electrician round and get it re done and get it in the floor in armoured cable
