I need to find a white oiled engineered oak 1 strip floor without a bevelled edge. was looking at eiger phoenix so ideally 21mm but would settle for a 15mm with a decent veneer. Any1 know of one? They all seem to have bevelled edges!!
Without the bevels you will need a really good engineered wood to give you a flat square edge prefinished http://www.listonegiordano.com/uk/extra_wide_boards.php Best one your ever find, not even a paper thickness in height difference, not cheap But nothing good in life generally is
That's what every one keeps saying but all 3 strip engineered is square edged and fits perfect ? I've found a company that will make it to order and stain it, really good firm that I've installed their solid oaks in the past. Company is Chaunceys highly recommend them
There's perfect and then there's PERFECT, being such a skilled fitter merit you would only use the best Ted Todd will probable do it as well but not as good
Ted Todd have said they would make if for a price but I'm guessing that price will be mega bucks! I would rather sand 20mm square edge but I don't wanna get involved in white oils, too much hassle. Every time I hear of a problem staining its with a white oil/limed effect.
Not sure they have an outlet in the uk now, I was one of their dealers a few years ago with a company in Needlemarket, but when the euro shot up it was very expensive , last year I contacted them for a repeat customer and it was a lot cheaper, contact them directly, I will dig out an email address for you,and pm you, they all speak English when you phone
