I used Uni-something or other, universal tackifier suitable for anything from carpets to vinyls.
Usually use F46, but got a good deal on the Uni-thing

Cushion floor in small areas ie toilet I would template but large free hand not that I fit much anymore.
Safety floor I scribe it flat lay but free hand on cove.

That serura I was thinking scribing coz of the ruff surface & also you can weld it.
Full stick on either 46 or tacki

Nothin wrong with 44, it`s good stuff.
Not my own pref, but I still use it, and abuse it, and its good.
If your scribing safety, you better get some shares in scribing pins !

Coz I plan to be the next fitter replacing it one day & uplifting cushion floor off 44 can be a nightmare so I prefer to use tacki

I don't use a scribe bar for that reason it kills the blades or pins. I use a small straight edge & knife & use the width of the straight edge to set my check marks !

Can`t see any reason to scribe/template safety. Freehand all the way. Surely there is no need to template.
If it`s XL or lino then it makes sense.
I`m not really thinking of who is going to uplift, I just want it to stay down.
