Gents You may [or may not] remember a couple of months ago i was asking for opinions on raising a concrete subfloor by around 30mm...Well we actually did it with plywood [exterior grade] raising levels by 24mm in all, the subfloor was thankfully pan flat and the 18mm ply was full contact bonded with Lecol MS250 plus as this adhesive has a little bit of flex, the 6mm ply was glued and screwed with Wakol/Lecol PU225, much less flex in this adhesive, then the new A & K oak 228 x 70 x 20mm blocks were fitted, again with PU225, then both floors were sanded and finished. If you would do me a favour and have a look at the project here...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRE1ir2jrRk Any critiques will be taken in the right way...you bar stewards :thumbs NB. Advice for the spec for this project was kindly given by Duncan Conlan from Lecol/Wakol Cheers Boys
Cheers Daz Pretty involved project tbh, the client had some pretty stupid ideas initially about using reclaimed blocks for the border interface between the 2 areas, should of raised the level by 30mm tbh, ended up with having to sand a lot off the adjoining room, but the blocks were 30mm thick so they could take it...should've just told the customer not to interfere but you know what its like sometimes...it won't happen again !! thankfully things turned out alright in the end
Cheers boys...glad we went with the ply in the end, worked out a bit cheaper than leveller and was proper rock solid in fairness, that Wakol PU225 adhesive is ridiculously strong stuff...
