Of look at a fair size job on Monday for a new builder there not from near me and he's saying its a givlon screed and he is saying his other floor layers he uses from round his way prime and stick direct to it.it's going be karndean going down but iv never heard of it being done this way iv always balls121 and trade plan on top but he's saying there's no need to pay for prep anyone else heard of it being done this way cheers
I would personally do the following, make sure the top surface has been sanded back (should be by the screeding company), P121 then greenbag. Also check the floor for moisture, again this was something that when gyvlon screeds came about the screeders would tell the M/C that it is dry enough to receive floorcoverings.
very lucky if you get the screeding co. to grind back for you. I never have Normally grind off the latience, prime then screed (i'll only ever use a gypsum based one) Or it WILL pop maybe not tomorrow, or the next day, but soon...:-?
It can be done. I have around a 1000 sq m which was ground, one coat dilute primer, one neat, then latex, supacord/vinyl Has been down around 8 years now with no problem. I did make the mistake of trying the same on a Gyvlon screed, which was not dry. Big fail !
