hi guys a customer of mine brought f76hp liquid dpm from me,, they didnt wont me to do the flooring so they did it themselves to save money.... they are doing all the floors on there own and it has bitten them on the bum because little problems are coming up which most I can solve but some im struggling with... 1 is that they have done it in a small cloakroom where they cannot take the toilet or basin pedestal out and put the 76 down and its gone everywhere on the skirting and toilet doors,... you name it everywhere. they said how do i clean it... i said f balls cleaner C something which is on the instructions, which they tried but on there nice solid oak door they cant remove it also on there radiator. they do not wont to start sanding anything or create a bigger mess they just want a cheap/quick solution.. for some reason they used nail varnish remover and it helped a little on the radiator but not alot.. any ideas guys?
Serves them right! How many times do we hear about people trying to save themselves money and it costing more than they would of spent to get a professional to do it in the first place. Not to mention the dpm has probably been put down incorrectly so isnt even doing its job!
I wouldn't even bother helping them. Doesn't sound like a good customer if they are always after things on the cheap.
I think I'm goner help them for now but as u said basically walk away but in the past they have given me a lot of work but money is getting tighter for them... I will waste abit of time with them then tell them "your problem" But any suggestions from anyone?
Yea I know the feeling but that's when you take pictures and tell other customers what c*ap job it can be done if you do it yourself and take pictures after when you have finished
Tell them they should of masking taped up everywhere first, its an epoxy based dpm so they have no chance of getting it off unless they scrape it off sand it back and repaint it, as for the solid oak door! id hazard a guess that that will have been stained by the 76 so even if they get it off it will leave a mark.
Can't get it off, I know from a bad experience the first time I used epoxy Dpm. Sprayed it on the bi folding doors which I spent a day picking it off and then had to pay for them to be re sprayed. £750 cock up
How do you manage to make such a mess when applying this? Just mask everything up first then you're good to go!
I did a job last month, customers cat ran straight through it and jumped onto kitchen side, brand new work tops, with bright blue prints on it! Called fball tech team, said it can only be scraped off, no cleaning products will touch it! Not cool. They where warned to keep the cat out though
They tried to, and actually paid me 200 less my invoice amount! Couldn't be arsed with the aggressive so not spoken since job completion. Funny, they used to be a friend lol. Lesson learned. Never work for mates
Cats are often a massive pain...what more can you do other than warn them to keep the animal out of the way until the product is dry !! I'm sure it wasn't your cat so how can you be culpable for any cat related issues...
Because joe public is an ar****le at times and will claim just about anything they can, or better still, try and knock ya! Worked in social housing for 10yrs and some of the claims that where made against other trades where scary!
