....it's off on hols we go!! One day of fun, followed by thirteen days of arguments, fights, sulking and trying not to kick Mickey Mouse in the gonads. That's assuming the plane makes it that far.
What, on holiday with my wife, four kids AND the in-laws? ...now you're just taking the p1ss. Keep your eyes on Sky News Monday afternoon...."39 year old man commits suicide in Gatwick departure lounge...."
Hotel on Int. Drive, no car, shuttlebus will take us wherever we need to go, I'm gonna make sure I'm p1ssed for the next fortnight, that should put a smile on my God-fearing religious in-laws faces. I've never met such un-christian people as christians. Pray for me
A lesson painfully learned.......make sure your holiday doesn't co-inside with Spring Break! The kids managed ONE ride in eight hours at the Magic Kingdom, the place was full to capacity (80,000 apparently), and when they ushered us to the sides to make way for the parade, we were like sardines in a tin, even the locals were swearing. Disney really is a pile of sh1te. And to make it even worse they now have designated smoking areas, much different from the last time I was there in 2000. I got talking to a local and even he was laughing about how you can buy a gun from almost anywhere, but you can't smoke. And nobody bothered to tell us that a good portion of international drive is now a building site. Having said all that, you still can't fault the Yanks for cleanliness and hospitality, and the "have a nice day" has now been replaced by "no problem/you're welcome" But I think I can safely say that Disney has had it's day, and Universal is as brilliant as it's always been. Yee Haa.
I was going to mention that it was spring break and about ID having a lot of work, but I thought it would bring you closer to your inlaws Next time you want to go or anybody wants to, let me know , I have a few condos at this resort Bahama bay http://www.wyndhamvacationrentals.c...ando/destination/resort/bahama-bay-resort-spa My website below http://www.bahama-bay.co.uk/default.aspx
Yes I used to own 10 at that resort and another 10 to 15 places or plots of land all over Southern America and the Caribbean, Got carried away a few years ago and thought I was an international estate agent, to be honest I thought they would all earn a return and " this time next year we will be millionaire's Rodney" But that was before the bank crashes, The banks took most back but I still have three at that resort and shares in a place in Antigua At bahama bay I was the president of the association for 10 years so was always over there in florida, so I can give people a few pointers and advice, will give people a discount if I can, it's a lovely place, Just pm me
All theme parks are a nightmare this tine of year the best time for them is november, international drive is a poor shadow of what it used to be most hotels are flat and now a building site the largest the wyndham resort up on the cross roads of salt lake drive and I drive unfortunately this will go on for the next 9 years they say, your best bet us to get a villa in davenport most work out same price if not cheaper than a hotel and has good access via the 192 to disney areas or the i4 for the universal areas
2 weeks at Christmas was our favourite time, and davenport area too. Villa and a car couldn't beat it. come and go as you please
Not been at christmas yet , davenport Is our favorite area highlands reserve and chamions gate, as you say with acar come and go as you please, all this bloody talk of florida may have a sneaky look at flight prices
Ok, I know I sounded a bit moany, and I. Drive isn't what it was, but we did have a great time. The trouble is, in reality I'm back here working, but in my head I'm leaning on the balcony with a Bud in one hand and a Camel in the other. To be honest, I'd give anything to be back there. Where else can you be at 11pm in 30 degree heat having a fag and a beer and contemplating about how far you've come in such a short time, all the littluns tucked up in a Florida hotel room, when only a short time ago we were lucky to afford Yarmouth? And I had one of the best meals of my life in an Italian restaurant called The Olive Garden at stop 24. I feel very humble just thinking of it if I'm honest. America really is a great country, and is very Anglo-friendly.
