Joiner had a go at fitting vusta lvt, not brilliant don't want to say too much , but store has asked me to re- do... He screeded half of it and was wavy as hell...anyway point is going to have to rip up and start again.. Point is I was going to prime then 1 coat of screed, prime, dpm, then 2 nd coat of screed....or would it be easier to prime, dpm then 20 mm of screed...have never covered a rip up so worried about old glue residue
You can't use primer under Dpm it will breakdown ! Are you going over the screed the joiner put down ?
Do you know what screed he put down? if waterbased you wont be able to dpm over it, youd need to scabble it back if it is, sandwich in a dpm between a moisture tolerant bag and bottle but before doing find out what the chippy has put down and how he did it, as once you have gone over it it becomes your liability.
That's exactly what I going say next ! If the top has failed there's a good chance the bottom will to ?
Sounds a right bag o worms, probably water based screed used, but lead to believe this is the strongest. Going to have to screed over his work...think I will phone vusta tech and ask them exactly what they want me to do, have ordered there primer and dpm
I tell you what's they'll say now ! Dig it all up & redo the lot starting with a moisture test when you back down to original sub floor ! Its the only way to know it won't fail by doing it correctly from the start !
