Our builder has laid 2 layers of Sikaflex Level-25 screed in our Garage, prior to over coating with a water based Epoxy Paint. The first layer was mixed by hand and the second with a paddle mixer. The screed is very patchy in colour, varying from dark grey to milky white. Lots of blow holes and many soft spots which look like unmixed powder. It doesn't look suitable for painting. Any comments/ suggestions on how to improve the screed?
Dig it up & get it done properly ! Mixing by hand ????? Lol Its should be one uniform colour & consistant throughout
Agree with Spacey.. Sounds all round pretty poor. Although, I'd say pics would help. Hand mixing for a full garage. Bet he was knackered and no wander it's got powder lumps in..IMO It'll take to long to mix by hand, so while he's messing about mixing his second/third bag, the original would be going off, so the SLC probably wont be fused between sections either . Just a thought and not a dead cert.. It's an art you know Captain Can't wait till I've mastered it
I dont care what anyone says and if someone challenges me i will take them up on the challenge. ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO MIX BY HAND CORRECTLY. Pictures please
