    Hi guys,

I am in need of a little help from you experts :p.

So I have to look for flooring in a small restaurant. About 115sq metres max. I was thinking some sort of laminate type thing but someone pointed me in the direction of Amtico? Now this stuff looks good and apparently it will hold up to some abuse and heavy cleaning.

I just have a few questions. I'm sure under the floor atm it is just concrete or something like that could it be made to fit on that?

I also think the floor is uneven but the current carpet hides that. Would it still be ok to fit the Amtico?

How much does Amtico cost per sq metre roughly. It's just so I have a ball park figure.

Does a specialist have to fit the flooring or could it be a DIY effort?

I hope you guys can help. All help is appreciated.

    Thanks

The floor will needed to be screeded first to provide a smooth surface to glue the Amtico to.
Also definitely not a diy effort.

You should look at expona commercial instead. It's a commercial lvt and cheaper than Amtico!

What do you mean stand up to some abuse and what is involved in your heavy cleaning ? Price wise ddpending on what range but you would be lookjng around £100 per metre, can it be fitted by a diy'er i wouldnt advise it

Polyflor Expona, Distinctive, Project Floors. Pay for the product not the Brand. You will get something that is commercially rated for approx £60-70 p/mtr fitted. Where abouts are you ?? There mayne someone on here who is close by and able to help.

The OP could get Amtico for that price fitted as well seeing as it's over 100m2. Why is everyone so anti Amtico? Always been alright to me.

Firstly thanks for the reply guys, really appreciate it.

Ok will look into that thank you

Just heavy foot fall, heels people dragging in muck/stones. High chairs, chairs going back and forward tables being moved the usual restaurant stuff. Depending on how messy a customer is sometimes the floor is being mopped with hot water 2/3 times.

Fantastic thank you. I'm just slightly north of Dundee, Scotland.

Do you guys think that going for something like this is still worth it over a laminate which are usually cheaper arent they?

Sorry one other question is it easier to get it from and fitted from the same person or should I look online and then someone to fit it?

Laminate will be cheaper but won't last no where near as long in a commercial area as a good lvt.

If a jobs worth doing its worth doing right, if you buy the materials online, no manufacture will g'tee their products. Trust me it would be better business sense if you located a flooring shop or specialist flooring contractor to source and supply the flooring as they could also advise you on what and how much is needed to sort out your sub floor etc.

Personally I won't fit for someone who has bought off line. They want the advice, the measure, the time, then think that's all free and cut you out of the supply by buying from the net. I cant run a business doing supply only. That's just my view. Get it from one person, no messing about with an internet retailer then looking for a fitter, and you will find someone good from this forum, someone who will do very good work, that you won't have to worry about any issues. That's worth paying a little bit more for.
