I don't understand what quick step are guaranteeing ?
If its fitted right its fitted right so there would be no need to claim on a guarantee ?
If its fitted badly then they'd they say it's a fitting error so why would they do anything about it ?

Just out of curiosity, how long does everyone guarantee their fitting for.

They are backing up the training course so if you are a master fitter they will back up your work .
Just gives the customer a sense of security with a manufacturer willing to back up its products not only with wear warrantys but akso the quality of the install
it defo helps when i show quickstep also they push enquierys from their website to you.
i have done over 5grands worth since we got master fitter status
i woukd like to see more manuf go diwn this route and then maybe we as a trade can look much more pro lume say sparkies or gas fitters etc.
adam did his apprentiahip with floor skills using mfloor lvt
And we did courses at polyfloor and i would like to see firms like this backvus up if we are trained and certified by them.

You could say forever... as it's nearly always a problem caused by other people

so they give you a 1 year product guarantee I,e faulty tiles , discolouration, durability wear ect

and any fitting faults would be down to the fitter .... Cheers Lvtman :thumbs

Mflor will back you and send work to you if you do a FloorSkills course and then pass a CITB accreditation test.

Actualy i would like to add to my post an ask why when we are paying to go on manufacturers courses they are not backing us up with the same or similar to quickstep.

As i understand it (so could be wrong)

Quickstep will extend the warranty on fitting etc if a fitter has completed their course. They do this as you have technically been trained the correct way of installing. If you install the correct way then there should be no problems. Hence they are happy to through in a additional guaranty. (bit like a in house insurance policy they have)

However, if there is a installer problem then basically quickstep will be inspecting the floor for free and if its really down to the installer then they will simply tell you that your at fault and you need to replace ( at the installers cost as their fault) or they will take your 'master' status away from you . if you refuse ( i think but could be wrong) 'quickstep' will replace the flooring for the customer and use another contractor to reinstall.

Personally i think it great that they do this (if the above is correct), however i think the 'masters' course is way to easy to pass. Had a few who have done the course and then done the Floorskills course and i have been surprised at the lack of knowledge and skills some people have to be classed "master" . Dont get me wrong here, we get some seriously daft people come on FloorSkills courses also that leave telling me that they are also going to do quickstep, fita etc courses also and i sit there thinking " i hope they dont tell quickstep etc they have been trained by FloorSkills as they simply need a change of career" Some people simply do need a change of career ! Hence FloorSkills and i believe FITA only give out attendance certificates and the FITA Master fitter and the CITB accreditation (the accreditation is the test that floorskills uses) is after a strict test with a high failer rate.

Personally i cant comment on the failer rate of quickstep master installer course tho as i simply dont know.

No mate . i say 'no' as in no he dont just get it. He has however been trained to the standards needed to pass. If he wanted to try for accreditation then its a separate test he will need to sit.
