I looked at a 165m2 job that has a power floated concrete floor (polished surface) and took initial readings with a TramexCE showing between 4 and 5.5. The customer favours a Polysafe covering or possibly Mflor vinyl planks. As you would think the floor is level and I spoke to a Balls rep who said if it was not new concrete it would be ok to prime and use F46. I'm not sure and was looking for other solutions as the area has heavy printing machines on wheels that are moved around from time to time. Any advice please?
Powerfloat takes years to dry doesnt it? I wouldnt stick straight to id definately screed it first probably with a high strength bottled screed.
Are you sure it's concrete and not anhydrate/calcium sulphate? I wouldn't put either of the two you suggested onto concrete I would screed.
I've just been doing some research on another topic and found this that may be of use http://theflooringforum.com/archive/index.php/t-12798.html. In particular the very last post. I'm no vinyl fitter and I don't use a tramex but still thought 5.5 sounded high, especially with the max being 6.9%. Just something to mull over..
Yes this can be done I've done it on a few large jobs, prime and f46 straight over power floated with polysafe astral, and job was and still is spot on 1000m2 too. As long as readings are ok and subfloor is spot on its a great floor to lay on.f46 Takes a while to tack up tho.
