Does anyone know a good source for Pine Slithers made from old reclaimed floorboards? We find them to be the best method when filling gaps and it helps to prevent draughts and dust build up whilst also creating a professional-looking finish. Most fillers start to shrink, change colour and fall out after a while, and the slithers do a better job all round. The problem is the cost, my usual supplier has just increased his prices and I'm now paying over £75 for a pack of mixed sizes! It's hard to justify spending this much extra and I'm now looking for an alternative. The cheapest I've found are not made from reclaimed timber and this new wood doesn't match many of the old floors we restore. Any ideas would be welcome. Bob www.floorfixer.co.uk
Bob I applaud your attention to detail.I know they are listed on ebay in the reclaimed flooring section. What is a fitted rate for this as i find it difficult to make this service pay.
I charge twice the amount it would cost for using Junkers Basefill mixed with dust collected by the Trio. Bob www.floorfixer.co.uk
