Advice - Can you fully bond solid oak onto an already fully bonded Regupol / similar acoustic underlay,,, Or does the ba$*ard need to be uplifted & adhesive too... thanks in advance :cool:

Solid oak Mario...it's gonna move a lot more than tiles. Matt raised a point before about the adhesive also....of its not stuck with wood glue it won't have the same shear strength.

Doesn't say anything about bonding it tho! Or the size of the board

Actually does say you can stick down to it but its the American site and its a certain type specially for hardwood flooring? Is this even the same stuff we get over here?

Also in the instructions they drop in a "Engineered hardwood" reference.

I was always under the impression it should be stuck with a flex adhesive?

If the conditions are correct and the moisture levels in the wood are correct then I see no reason why not,
Use a good MS adhesive fully bonded,
If the conditions are correct then you will not get much or any movement,

did call but as per Merit's comment not a great deal of wisdom was forthcoming... you get far better advice on this forum than many of the so called tech. advisor's at some of these suppliers
