Hi I am asking advice as its lot of money and I don't want a craps job and have no idea what constitutes good practice.

Well the price quoted Is with vat, they didn't really say what screed they use. I ask about moisture tests but he said since house is 3/4 year old it will be cured and not need testing.

Sure I read on amtico laying guide that it should always be done.

I like the grano but the boss is worried it to grey since she painted the walls grey.

as usual don't have any good samples to test this against as the ones you get on the net are tiny lol.

    lol
correct, and not just for amtico
It should be done whatever the floorcovering is, being installed.
You know more than they do!

Thanks for the offer but she set on the amtico purely based on fact it amtico .

Looking at pictures online I don't see much difference in grano and white ash. Both look silvery to me.

All I want is hardwearing , 3 year old proof floor that not going to bankrupt me, and looks nice in the process lol.

Might phone current people I have quote for and speak to someone with knowledge. Before I say yea or nea to them.

Moisture test is my main worry as I believe that if they get it wrong my concrete could sweat and crack , worse case and if they haven't followed amtico standard who to blame?

    Yes!

    Without doubt, go to www.mflor.co.uk
Ask for samples for authentic oak - lumi and authentic plank - chikapin
What's the worst that could happen......!
Same spec as spacia, better surface finish.

    Take a look

another note to be aware of.
Screed must go down with a MINIMUM thickness of 3mm, no less.
some firms to cut costs, make the mix too watery to make it 'go further' thus only laying on a 'scratch coat'
    so minimum thickness applies :)
make sure your getting what your paying for
