Tackifier

Which one do you use?
How do you put it on?

Got a big carpet tile job next week and only have one 25 ltr laybond tackifier so need some more.
Always used a medium pile roller before. Any other way quicker?

 

Mapei tackifier for me. Strong and goes miles. Also the tubs the right shape and size to get a roller in.
Same method for applying. Medium pile 12" roller

 

What sizes do they do Pete ? This job is 800m2

 

Only ever used fballs. Comes in a 25l drum. Never had any problems wouldn't use anything else.

 

I use the laybond stuff, pour it out and roll it with a medium pile roller.
sometimes water the smaller 5 litre tubs down 50/50. Never had any issues and been using it for years.

 

Mapei is the best mate, goes miles and comes in a bucket like Trimmer said

 

15kg tubs. Get at least 200 m2 a tub

 

That's assuming the floors not rough as hell

 

Just get a few boxes of spray and spray them all down, that's the best way and you'll have a good laugh by the end of the day

 

Always used fball myself with a medium roller. Never hear of mapei?

used that system before, not too bad but gotta watch when you nr the walls etc lol
headlam do that system for around £185 + adhesives I think

 

We use these on the go outdoor stores, super quick and its great for cardiovascular.

 

I use a foam roller... you know the one Dazlight..

 

Same as that, there the best. Unless its powerfloat, or ply, then use a 24" Roller. Nice and quick

on access computer floors i use a roller
On screed or powerfloated use an old screeding trowel And tight skim it on

 

I have one them for years but had a 1,000sq m to fit and laybond have discontinued the adhesive so the gun is useless now!
