Alright lads, have a bit of a different one here. The inlaws are converting a 1750's cottage to move into and looking to get Balterio on the floor. The floor itself is not a problem as had a bitumen poured in about 10 years ago and looks in good nick with no cracks and Tramex saying 1.8 on the scale, will use a dpm sheet anyway. The problem is the finish on the perimeter as it was old stone walls that have been smoothed in with plaster and hand curved and looking for ideas on a decent finish for the expansion gap as as there are no skirtings on any wall and a pain in the bum and time consuming cutting/angling beading and waiting to stick. Any ideas?
personally and def seeing as its for family. Id be using a grinder with appropriate disc and undercutting the fekr lol
Mike, I normally would but this is every wall in every room (4 rooms) old walls, makeshift smoothing worried if I touch and start cutting will crumble to bits)
That rope looks decent. I would just cut in tight, mabe stick the boards to stop them moving and seal with bona gap master. Best filler I've used for wood flooring and you can seal over it to stop it going a crap colour
If you wanna keep the expansion gap and still seal put McDonalds straws into expansion gap and seal over the top
I was going to suggest the rope as Bolton Flooring said, I have seen it down and it is effective. Otherwise scribe it tightly to the wall, glue down at the edge and finish with a bead of mastic.
