Ardex say you use NA over ply ! What's your thought on doing it with 1200 ? I've asked Fball on twitter @AskFball but they don't seem to give me an answer ?
I've used na over ply and had no problems so far! If the subfloor is not flexing too much I can't see why not, I'm going to be using na over Mapei ps addy soon see what happens
I will give it a scrape, but how easy is it going to be to get up? It's a mare, did a small patch 4m2 with my fein saw worked good but took ages. how would you take it up?
I daren't do that in the house I'm going to, I can imagine sand flying all over that would be another thing that will upset the customer! Have you used that method before? What did you use on the plate of the buffer sandpaper? ive just invested in a victor sprite 400
Only on tackifier on contract jobs with heavy grit sanding disc but yes its messy so not ideal in a house but you can get dust ectractig units for some buffers ! Labourer on the razor scrapper lol
I'm doing it 2moro Got a reply from Fball "We do not recommended SG1200 over ply wood for this we recommend 700!" I already know that I just wanted to know if it would work in theory ? I'm saying yes lol
I've been chatting to a fella this week who has said he uses flexi screed on every job, regardless !!!
On the spec sheets you are losing 4n flexability over top strength using 1200 pro over 700, I think youd be safe as houses with 1200 over 9mm ply, now would that work out cheaper than 6mm and 700? suppose it depends on what you buy at and then factor in the little bit of extra time to fit 9mm instead of 6mm ply, think I might try it on a small job.
I used 9mm ply for this always do & yes it worked out cheaper Why does it take longer to fit 9mm than 6mm ?
