from what you said on an earlier post its asphalt because it dark brown/black ish and has dents from furniture .......... so
isolater and sheet vinyl or latex then vinyl ( if no cracks ) .....best option ??

Funny, when I did the Amtico course we was told you couldn't lay over magnesite because nothing would stick to it? Not because it would break down from the excessive moisture trapped/passing through it! But then they also told us that primer won't help screed bond to the floor, just stop it pin holeing

At one point they saying you cant lay on it and then they are saying you can with a prep of compound and primer.

Nobody recommeneds applying a smoothing compound or any impervious material over it.

    It sweats and all types.

If in good condition i would skim it and fully bond.

We laid some spacia on it a few years ago. It lasted a few years then all blew. Think there is a topic on here somewhere. I've now repaired it and it will prob only last a year.

it dont matter, they react the same as a solid wood floor. They absorb moister like a anhydrate screed but they also sweat with impervious sheet. Hence only a breathable product can be laid over them.

Sorry, i was referring to LVT with fully bond.

If its a cushion vinyl then loose lay up to 15 sq'm. To be fair you can loose lay a much larger area, just need to cut it a few mm short.
