Would of thought there was an abundance of work in London, I'm the wrong end of the country but my old fitting partner is flat out, Hope you find some work
There is shit loads mate. You cant drive for more than 2 minutes without going past a tower crane. There are some piss takers with prices though
It's been a long time since I worked in London so I'm way out of touch, hope you find some soon, I'll ask my mate to see if he knows of any for you
Thank you very much Chris ! For some reason most of the calls i received this week was for work far far away from London + a few around here but a sort of rubbish prices
There are a few firms I sub too, when I don`t have my own work on. Some of my work got put back this week, so I started a new build job. It involves, scrap up and sweep out, primer over Gyvlon, latex, Karndean to lounge/kitchen, and hall/cupboard with 6 door frames, protect (properly !)and clear rubbish to site skip. Plots are between 33-50 sq. m. Also, you have to load your own plots on floors 1-7 I have done a fair bit of work for this firm, so trust them, and started the work, without asking any prices. When I got them, the rate worked out to £ 7.85 sq. m ? To be fair to them, I had a discussion about realistic rates, and we agreed on a rate that was acceptable, but they other guys were lapping it up.
A lot of firms really don't appreciate the timescale involved in just preparing the floor to have primer. uplifting/scraping/hoovering then primer can take a while sometimes.
If they were offering just £7.85m2 for all the prep and laying then is just frightening When i tried asking about realistic rates i was told stories,, so not worth going to work for unrealistic rates
