Looking at new LVt floor. We have Amtico on a kitchen floor we had screeded and laid by John Lewis. It’s time to change it and I wondered if the amtico can be lifted easily and a new LVT fitted without another rescreed. I don’t want to get ripped off and wondered how easy it is to lift the amtico ourselves or how much of a job it would be for the guys laying the new one. existing floor is 450x300 tile effect with dividing strips. New floor will be 90mm herringbone style planks. The room is 20 sqm approx of flooring. Any ideas on a solid fitting price for this type of job? Thx all.
It is possible. It depends on how well they prepared the subfloor and what type of adhesive was used. You wont know until you start to lift the old floor.
Chances are you'll most likely need to re-screed the floor after removing the Amtico. Fitting price should be around £500 just like Dazlight said! Cheers Steve www.pro-fitfloorcoverings.co.uk www.mrs-whippy.co.uk
